Oakes Barn was created to be a community hub, a place where all were welcome. We wanted to evoke that community spirit and sense of belonging, and we hope that we have managed to do just that, and we work hard to keep groups going, supporting local sporting teams and raising money for different charities.
We are proud sponsors of the local football and rugby clubs.
We are a pub partner with St Nicolas Hospice. We have raised money through the summer with various events, and the ladies from the Barn completed the Girl's Night Out Challenge.
We also support the Box It quizzes, a very popular night, that raises a lot of funds for the Hospice.
We are the home of Marie Curie during their town collection days, and we are the meeting place for Macmillan.
Our groups are fantastic oppurtunity for people to come and meet like minded folks, and enjoy their interests in a safe environment.
See our events page for the groups and dates.
